Sean Merrill - 'The Compost Guy'

FOUNDER MERRILL'S ORGANICS

AND OFF TO COMPOSTING SCHOOL

” I grew up running around on a three-generation egg farm in Eagle, Idaho. From the time I could walk, I would follow my grandpa and dad around, unloading baby chickens, collecting eggs, shoveling manure, and making small talk with delivery drivers. I loved it all!”
– Sean Merrill (Founder Merrill’s Organics)

Sean’s journey led him to a degree from the University of Maine’s Composting School then Midwest Bio-Systems where he studied Amish composting methods and finally to Dr. Elaine Ingham who introduced him to soil biology and compost tea.

THE BIRTH OF 'THE COMPOST GUY'

Armed with science, Sean’s proprietary, “Merrill’s Compost”, became as sought after as the eggs from the Merrill’s family-run egg farm.
“Golf courses, vineyards, garden centers, and landscapers all over Idaho were using our compost to enrich their soils.”
